SINGTEL officially opens its ninth Singapore data centre with DC WEST joining its network of facilities. The seven-story, Tier 3-plus high security data centre is located near Jurong Gateway, the largest regional and commercial hub outside of the central business district. It is SingTel’s biggest such investment yet, to meet colocation and cloud demands. The new DC West site costs S$400m. The purpose-built seven-storey building have a floor area of over 570,000 sqft, and is equipped with a total power capacity of up to 36 megawatts – one of the highest in the region.
The data centre is built to achieve the BCA Green Mark Platinum, and incorporates environmentally friendly features such as a critical cooling system that uses “NEWater” - the brand name for water reclaimed from sewage by Singapore’s Public Utilities Board.
Asiatic Engineering together with Reflex Winkelmann Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, win order to supply REFLEX ‘VARIOMAT’ and ‘SERVITEC’ for water cooled chiller system, N+1 with closed loop chilled water distribution system (CRAC configuration: N+20). The VARIOMATs and SERVITEC units ensure and to maintain constant desired pressure in the system; and ensuring a gas-free unit, respectively.
