Started as a trading company merchandising high quality power tools and industrial hardware, the business soon be came more specialised in pumps, mechanical power transmission products and refrigerants.
With the country’s industrialisation and housing programs in the early 1970’s, the construction market was very vibrant and available resources were strained. Along with this, businesses in the company increased and Asiatic Engineering Company was then incorporated as Asiatic Engineering Private Limited. Riding on the waves of a booming economic climate, Asiatic diversified to offer specialized supplies and services catering to specific industries.
This dynamic business approach saw the establishment of several subsidiaries regionally, run by 150 people, with offices in Indonesia, Vietnam and Japan. These offices provide platforms to build new businesses and to tap into new market opportunities. With the formation of ASEAN Economic Community blueprint, working towards free trade within the community, these regional offices would open up our business to the population of 600 million in ASEAN.

"As the the market place becomes more sophisticated and demanding, we need to constantly change to stay relevant, be it in the up-to-date and competitiveness of the products that we offer; or keeping up with the latest software to ensure we have real time information to optimise our inventory and keeping our customers up to date on delivery.
However, despite the constant pressure for us to re-invent, there is the one thing that will not change - our ‘inter-personal’ relation with our customers and integrity. This has been the hallmark since the dayAsiatic started, and got us where we are today. They are a set of values which we will continue keep, while we strive for continuous growth."
Singapore’s reputation as a logistics hub for the region adds to the pressure of ensuring quick and efficient delivery of equipment from warehouse to site or from one country to another. Upholding this concept, Asiatic’s warehouse and production facility are located in Tuas Industrial Estate, in the hub of heavy industry zone and also connected to the highly efficient highway network in Singapore.
Our 5,000-sqm facility houses the bulk of the inventory consisting of pumps, pressure tanks, cooling towers and PPR pipes & fittings, as well as products distributed by Asiatic Refrigeration and AsiaMech Engineering; for distribution throughout Singapore and the region.
Our pump inventory covers most of the commonly required models which allows for very quick deliveries to customers’ requirements. If not, an efficient inventory ordering system allows for us to order from the manufacturers. Our inventory is managed with the SAP ‘Business-One’ Business Management System, ensuring our stocks are always in ‘healthy’ positions to meet the ever demanding market.
With our own teams of fabricators and f itters, all the pumpsets dispatched from our facilit ies are assured of the highest of quality and standards. Our welders are qualified and tested regularly to industrial standards. Apart from being equipped to assemble pumps and drivers mounted on common skids with the couplings fully aligned;our workshop also assembles complete automatic booster pumpsets complete with pressure tank and control panel, with manifolds in either stainless steel or PPR materials. Themachine shop is supported by 2 lathemachines with Ø400mm and Ø500mm swing with 1500mm long bed and 2000mm long bed respectively. Most machining requirement for standard pump applications can be undertaken in-house.
At Asiatic, clients have the opt ion to have their cooling towers assembled at-site or off-site. Having cooling towers assembled off-site gives the advantage of better logist ical control and allows for the towers to be delivered as a complete unit and installed efficiently. A section of the Tuas facility is used for cooling towers assembly.
